What does a comprehensive vehicle inspection include?

The inspection will include everything the manufacturer specifies and is required for the logbook service. Everything below, and much much more!

  • 1. Test drive

    The engine, drivetrain, brakes and suspension in your vehicle will be tested to ensure that they are up to standard.

  • 2. Operational check

    The standard components of your vehicle such as seat belts, lights, wipers including washers and arm mechanism, horn will be inspected. The air/cabin filters and housing will also be checked.

  • 3. Digital battery check

    Your battery will be tested and printed results will be provided.

  • 4. Vehicle digital diagnostic scan

    A complete electronic diagnostic scan, with forefront equipment.

  • 5. Inspection of underbody

    A visual inspection will be conducted for leaks from your engine, exhaust system, fuel line and gearbox.

  • 6. Tyre pressure and tread wear check

    The condition, pressure and tread wear of your tyres (including the spare) will be inspected to ensure that it is up to the legal standard.

  • 7. Brake wear recommendation

    A precise measurement can be provided to you. This will also include a fluid condition check.

  • 8. Suspension system check

    Joints and bearings in your vehicle will be checked for any leaks.

  • 9. Final assessment of vehicle

    The wheels are cross checked and a final road test is performed to ensure quality of the service and operations performed.

mycar Roadside Assistance is our gift to you. Membership is offered to all logbook or essential plus service customers, effective six months from the date of your service but excludes fleet and Government customers.

What can mycar roadside assist do for you?

You’ll receive roadside assistance at any hour of the day, to get your vehicle up and running as soon as possible. Our team of mobile technicians are experienced in a range of onsite vehicle repairs and services, so no issue is too big or small (T&Cs apply).

  • Minor breakdown repairs - We’ll perform minor repairs to facilitate immediate mobilisation of your vehicle (including components up to a cost of $20 inc. GST).
  • Battery issues - We’ll test your vehicle's battery performance, jump start flat batteries and coordinate a replacement if needed (supply and delivery costs not included).
  • Emergency fuel assistance - We’ll provide sufficient petrol or diesel (up to 10 litres) to get you and your vehicle to the nearest fuel station for a full top up.
  • Flat tyre assistance - We’ll change your flat tyre with your serviceable spare. If you don't have one or have multiple flat tyres, we will transport you to the nearest mycar store.
  • Lost or locked keys - We can help locate and deliver a spare key or gain access to your locked vehicle (subject to proof of ownership).
  • Towing - We provide towing services to your closest mycar repairer, in both metropolitan (up to 20kms) and regional (up to 50kms) areas .
  • Caravan & trailer assistance - If you’re towing a caravan, trailer etc. when your vehicle requires transportation to a mycar store, we’ll transport your caravan to the same location.

How do I access mycar breakdown cover?

So you’ve found yourself in a bit of a pickle despite being a stickler for regular servicing. If you’ve had a logbook or Essential Plus service with us in the last six months, give our team a call on 13 13 28 and provide the following details:

  • Your vehicle’s registration number (and VIN if you know it)
  • Your contact number
  • Where your vehicle is located
  • What the problem seems to be and what assistance may be required

Please also notify us if:

  • Your vehicle is in a hazardous location or you are unable to stay with your vehicle due to safety concerns
  • You are towing a trailer or caravan etc.

Where it is safe, please stay with your vehicle. On the phone, we will discuss any possible solutions that can be taken care of by yourself. If further assistance is required, a highly qualified mobile technician will come to you as soon as possible to get your vehicle back on the road.

How much does roadside assistance cost?

mycar Roadside Assistance is complimentary for 6 months after a logbook or Essential Plus Service. However, costs will apply where your vehicle requires additional services outside our roadside assistance package. Please read carefully our full terms and conditions for details on what’s included.

Can I access mycar Roadside Assistance in another state?

Yes, we offer our roadside assist services nationwide. So if you run into any issues while traveling or on holiday in another state, there will always be a mycar technician nearby to help you.
