Datsun production began in 1931, when DAT Motorcar Co launched its new small car the "Datson".

Due to the meaning of the word “son” in Japanese, the name was changed to Datsun when Nissan took control in 1934.

In 1986, Nissan phased out the Datsun name completely, however, in 2012, it was announced that Nissan would revive the brand for use in Indonesia, South Africa, India and Russia.

Considered an Aussie icon, Datsun is famous for models such as the 180b, the 120y, and Fairlady Sports.
