  • We'll report on anything needed to keep your car (Betty? Bruce? Cassandra?) in tip top shape, even if they are starting to show their age.

Need a roadworthy in Tasmania?

There are many reasons why you may need to have a roadworthy certificate (RWC). Tasmania requires drivers to get a RWC when the car’s been moved into Tasmania from another state, if the registration has expired for more than three months and you want to re-register it, or in some cases if the car is registered but has an outstanding defect notice (and the issuing officer has indicated the need for a RWC on the notice).

Selling your vehicle with a roadworthy certificate can attract a higher sale, while those looking to buy can often score a bargain on a car that only needs a few repairs, as long as you're willing to take the risk and get your own certificate.

The good news is that no matter why you need a RWC, mycar has you covered, with clear pricing, great service and Zip Pay available to make the process as easy as possible.

Looking to get a roadworthy certificate in Tasmania?

When you bring your vehicle in for an inspection at one of our four service centres across the state, we'll get straight to work going over everything. The process will take approximately two to four hours and you're welcome to wait on site or wander around and have a shop if you're visiting one of our facilities located in a shopping centre.

Our friendly team will let you know when your vehicle is ready to be collected and you'll get full details on our findings.

If your car has passed inspection, you'll receive your handwritten roadworthy certificate on the spot. Please protect this paper as you'll need it for registration or to clear any issues with the relevant department. If any issues are found, our expert mechanics will be able to help you and provide a quote for getting the issues fixed.
