  • Increase vehicle resale value as it shows you look after your car.
  • It will also keep your new car warranty for newbies, for added peace of mind.

At mycar we call these our Basic Services, but you might know it as a minor or fixed price service.

  • We'll report on anything needed to keep your car (Betty? Bruce? Cassandra?) in tip top shape, even if they are starting to show their age.

Why service your EV?

It’s a common misconception you don’t need to service an electric vehicle (EV), like the BYD Dolphin. And while that may sound nice—unfortunately all cars require ongoing maintenance.

While most EV manufacturers’ recommended servicing schedules mean you come in less often than a petrol or diesel car, they still advise to book a service at least once a year or every 20,000km. Booking in for a service will help ensure all your car components are working as they should, giving you the smooth ride you’re used to.

At mycar, our EV-certified mechanics will help with your BYD Dolphin servicing and maintenance needs.

FAQs

How long does it take to charge a BYD Dolphin?

Depending on your charger, it takes between 45 minutes to 35 hours to charge a BYD Dolphin from 0% to 100%. For example, a 10 AMP Portable charger will take up to 35 hours, while a 80KW DC Charger will only take 45 minutes to charge.

Most home EV chargers in Australia operate between 3.6KW to 22KW, so it’s best to top up your vehicle when you’re home to stop it from running low.

Is the BYD Dolphin an SUV?

A BYD Dolphin is a hatchback EV (electrical vehicle) car. A hatchback is a smaller vehicle than an SUV, and typically has a smaller boot. However, while small, the BYD dolphin is still spacious, and allows you to put your back seats down to open up more than 1,300 litres of boot space.

What is the top speed of a BYD Dolphin?

The top speed of a BYD Dolphin is 150 km/h, which is more than enough for even the highest speed limit of 130 km/h in Australia. However, it’s important to remember you can drain your EV vehicle more quickly by driving faster.
