Why choose mycar for your Holden Rodeo’s oil change?

Oil is the lifeblood of your car's engine. When regularly changed, it keeps things running smoothly and reduces the likelihood of wear and tear on your engine's moving parts. Without a proper change, your engine can eventually become contaminated with dirt and debris, affecting your car's overall performance and even leading to engine failure.

At mycar, we complete your oil change in around 20-45 minutes, which can be done on its own or as part of a basic or logbook service. When you have your oil changed by one of our licensed experts, you can rest easy knowing that your Rodeo’s in safe hands, with a service that's safe, efficient and affordable.

How much does an oil change for a Holden Rodeo cost?

The price of an oil change for the Holden Rodeo can cost between $150-$200. Keep in mind, however, that things like oil type, kilometres travelled, the year and model of your Holden Rodeo and the condition of your vehicle, will affect the overall cost of your oil change.

If you get your Rodeo’s oil change as part of a fixed price service package with mycar, you’ll get an oil change with loads of extras. Starting at just $269 for our Essential Service, it’s a great way to keep on top of your maintenance.

How customers feel about our Car Servicing

Signs your Holden Rodeo needs an oil change

As with most vehicles, it's usually time to schedule an oil change for the Holden Rodeo when the oil change light on the dash comes on.

Other things that might alert you to an oil change include:

  • Reduced fuel economy
  • Engine overheating due to low oil levels
  • Oil leakage, resulting in dark, gritty oil or a sharp burning smell
  • Excessive smoke coming out of the exhaust, which can result in oil leaks or broken engine parts
  • Strange engine noises like knocking or clunking sounds due to friction between parts.

Make an appointment at your nearest mycar store for an oil change as soon as you notice one or more of these signs.

How much oil does a Rodeo take?

Engine type will play a major role in how much oil you need for your Holden Rodeo.

For example, a Holden Rodeo with a 2.0L or 2.8L Four-Cylinder Petrol Engine will need around 5 to 7 litres for optimum performance, whereas a Duramax Turbo Diesel Engine will need 8 litres, and 7.8 litres for a 3.6L V6 Petrol Engine.

What oil should I use for Holden Rodeo?

The right oil will depend on the year and model of your Holden Rodeo, as well as climate, oil viscosity and driving conditions.

Holden Rodeos with petrol engines will typically use a 5W-30, a 10W-30 or a 15W-40 oil. A 10W-40 or a 15W-40 oil, meanwhile, is better suited for diesel engines. Full synthetic oil is also a better choice for newer Rodeos over conventional oil, offering greater protection and performance.
